From 22 January to 5 February, visitors to Singapore Sports Hub could usher in the Year of the Rabbit by participating in Huat Run 2023 along the 100PLUS Promenade. If you missed out on the fun, here’s a recap to get you excited for next year’s edition.
HUAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT
The annual Huat Run takes place on the 100PLUS Promenade’s 888m-long red running track – a perfect venue for Chinese New Year festivities. Participants run whenever they want and as many times as they want during the event period.
This year, a social element was added to Huat Run: participants were encouraged to take a photo with every one of the three photoboards placed around the track, and upload them onto Instagram (IG) with the hashtag #HUATRUN, as well as tag Singapore Sports Hub. The three posts with the most number of likes each took home a pair of tickets to a concert or event happening at Singapore Sports Hub.

RUN, SHOOT, REPEAT
For photographer Yean Chin (@yean_to_travel), the Huat Run was a great way to exercise and bond with her friends and family during Chinese New Year. Now that the festive period is over, she hopes to join the Experience Sports Sessions. “They are some of my favourite programmes at Singapore Sports Hub; they offer a wide range of activities for people to try.”
Yean Chin also shares how to take a nice IG shot at the Singapore Sports Hub:
- Put your best angle forward: “You can take good photos from a low angle with your mobile phone, by using the running track at the 100PLUS Promenade as leading lines.”
- Capture breath-taking shots: “Here’s another tip – you can also take beautiful sunset photos outside Gate 1 at the National Stadium.”
