Welcome to Sports Hub Stars, a weekly segment where we feature visitors at the Singapore Sports Hub and share their stories! This week, we met Xenia and Xinghao who were playing together at the Beach Volleyball Court.
WHAT ARE YOUR OCCUPATIONS?
Xinghao: I’m a graphic designer.
Xenia: I’m in a store planning team.
ARE YOU GUYS ON A DIET? WHAT IS YOUR USUAL EXERCISE REGIME?
Xinghao: I'm not on a strict diet, but I play beach volleyball once or twice a week.
Xenia: I'm not on a strict diet either, but I play beach volleyball once a week when I can. We usually play together.
SO, ARE YOU GUYS HERE TOGETHER ONCE A WEEK?
Xinghao: No, this is a special case. We are here because we are joining the corporate category of Pesta Sukan which is held at these courts.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SPORTS HUB FACILITY?
Xinghao: Definitely these courts, I don’t really use any other facilities. But these courts are not easy to book; I need to camp online 7 days before the time I want to book the slot. Some days I log in at 5 to try and book slots for the coming week, and they are gone within a minute! Otherwise, the court is well maintained and there’s a nice view. The distance from my house is another point of pain, I live near Buona Vista and take the Circle Line all the way to Stadium.
Xenia: That’s dedication. I share most of the same thoughts and preferences as Xinghao since we both play beach volleyball.
Our Beach Volleyball Courts are open to everyone to book, so come down and hone your skills or try a new sport with friends. You might even be able to catch Xenia and Xinghao there in Pesta Sukan!
