Think of this as the ultimate sports buffet for kids. Over the course of eight weeks, children who take part in the Sports Hub Kids Ultimate Multi-Sports will get to try out 12 different sports, including capoeira, taekwondo, baseball and karate.
Injecting a healthy dose of fun into exercise, the programme presents an interactive and dynamic approach to getting your little ones fit, healthy and alert. It is open to children between the ages of three and seven.
As one of the most comprehensive multi-sports programmes in Asia, it gives your child the opportunity to experience a medley of sports, learn and develop a full array of skills and make new friends while at it. It does not matter if they have not had any experience with sports, as the programme caters to just about everyone.
The Sports Hub Kids Ultimate Multi-Sports is designed to create a positive sporting experience by giving every child the opportunity to try a wide range of sports. Interested parents can sign their kids up for the package covering the final four sessions, running from Nov 21 to Dec 12.
Perhaps most importantly, it aims to improve their fundamental movement skills and, who knows, it may uncover a hidden skill or passion that your child may not have known about.
The importance of exercise and physical activity on a child’s growth and development cannot be understated. Scores of studies suggest that children who develop healthy lifestyle patterns at a young age tend to carry them into adulthood, promoting lifelong health benefits. These benefits are not only physical; they can enhance mental well-being too.
Learning how to dribble a basketball like a natural also features in the programme.

To bring out the best in each child, a team of specialist coaches has been assembled, led by Sean Bashford from Proactiv Sports Singapore, the programme partner overseeing the event.
“Our team is made up of dedicated professional coaches, with at least a degree or equivalent in sports science, who are passionate about teaching sports to children and young adults,” says Bashford.
Hailing from Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and Singapore, the coaching team have all been trained in a wide variety of sports with specialist coaches in soccer, basketball, tennis, swimming, karate, taekwondo, capoeira, baseball and more. The coaches bring their own personality and personal experience to their sessions which helps them engage the children.

Safety first
Planning an event of this nature during this time has not been straightforward for Bashford and his team, but safety is very much the priority.
He assures all parents: “We are working in line with Sport Singapore’s Covid-19 health and safety measures to ensure that all children will be safe. Currently, groups are limited to five and there is no interchanging between groups. All sports equipment will be sanitised frequently to ensure the safest possible environment for your child to learn and develop.”
