Have An Enjoyable And Safe Event

Singaporeans are looking forward to exciting live events at Singapore Sports Hub.

After two years of strict safe management measures due to the pandemic, Singaporeans are hungry to experience large-scale live events again. The good news is that Singapore Sports Hub is bringing you the hottest music acts from Billie Eilish to Jay Chou and adrenaline-pumping sporting events such as ONE Championship and many more! The not-so-great news is that COVID-19 cases remain a concern. But as long as you follow these tips, you can be assured of a safe and enjoyable live event experience.

Get ready your TraceTogether app
Vaccination Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) apply to all events above 500 attendees. Hence, proof of vaccination is required for entry — even if you have a valid pre-event testing (PET) result. Check-ins via TraceTogether are also mandatory.

Ensure that you have the contact tracing app, TraceTogether, installed on your phone. You can use it to show your vaccination status as well. For a seamless entry, launch your app as you queue so that you can quickly scan the QR code and head to your seat.

Arrive early, take public transport
As huge crowds are to be expected during major events, do arrive early. Gates usually open around two hours prior to event time; check the Singapore Sports Hub website for details. To avoid being delayed by possible traffic congestion, opt to travel by public bus or MRT. This way, you’ll get to catch every precious second of the event.

Event-goers can go green by cycling to Singapore Sports Hub. However, the bicycles — including foldable types — have to be parked at the designated lots.

Travel light for a shorter wait at the bag-check station
Want to shorten your waiting time when security checks your bag? Pack light and leave unnecessary items at home. Prohibited items include weapons, laser pointers, glassware, cans, spray cans and musical instruments. Outside food and beverages are also not allowed. Check your event’s “conditions of entry” in advance so that you can plan accordingly.

The Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy 2022 match between Liverpool FC and Crystal Palace FC on 15 July attracted more than 50,000 football fans.

Mask up for peace of mind
For your safety as well as that of others, always wear a mask when indoors, unless you are eating or drinking. If possible, continue masking up at outdoor areas and covered walkways, and refrain from mingling or gathering at the concourse and open spaces.

Satisfy your rumbling tummy
Concession stands where you can buy light snacks and refreshments will be open at the event venues, so don’t worry if you didn’t manage to grab a bite before your show starts. Have your credit card ready for quick and contactless payments. This also helps you to stay safe by minimising physical contact with the F&B staff.

Alternatively, grab a pre-show meal and drink at any of the eateries in Kallang Wave Mall or the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Choose from a wide array of options, including Brewerkz, Thai Village, Ayam Penyet President, Al Capone’s, Pastamania, Suki-ya and many more.

A reminder that no outside food and drinks are allowed at the event venues. These will have to be surrendered to Singapore Sports Hub staff on entry. Patrons who are intoxicated or exhibit disorderly behaviour will be turned away, so go slow on the alcohol if you are planning to have some!

Show consideration to fellow attendees
During an event, you can take photos for personal use — unless the event organiser says no — but no flash photography please! Leave your selfie stick at home too, as these may block the view of other event-goers.

Short videos for your social media may be allowed. Again, this is subject to the event organiser’s discretion. Make it brief and try not to get too carried away recording videos of the entire show. Remember that it’s more fun watching a performance or sporting event live with your own eyes than through your phone screen.

Lastly, do not smoke anywhere at Singapore Sports Hub premises, except in designated smoking areas. And strictly no vaping — indoors or outdoors — which, by the way, is illegal to do in Singapore.

Don’t attend the event if you’re unwell
As the COVID-19 virus is still circulating, do stay at home if you experience symptoms or test positive on an antigen rapid test (ART). The resumption of live events depends on everyone doing their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
