From 23 to 28 January 2022, an unusual and captivating art piece had Singapore buzzing. Bring LOVE Everywhere was a moving (physically and metaphorically speaking) work of art that Very Small Exhibition, pushed by foot around Singapore over the course of six days.
The creator and muscle behind this labour of love that spanned 130km, Lee Wei Lieh of Very Small Exhibition, desired for Bring LOVE Everywhere to inspire onlookers to be kind to peers and strangers alike. He is known for his light-art installation series, Very Momentary Exhibition, which has illuminated public spaces like HDB block stairs and void decks in a multitude of colours. When he was invited to collaborate with Singapore Sports Hub last year, he decorated the iconic venue in an array of jovial shades.
Wei garnered a lot of media attention when he lit up Singapore Sports Hub in a myriad of colours.

As he pushed his eye-catching ‘LOVE’ sculpture, which consists of recycled plastic bottles illuminated by a kaleidoscope of colours, through neighbourhoods like Pasir Ris, Woodlands, Clementi and Tanjong Pagar, the public also tuned in to his Bring LOVE Podcast on Spotify, which featured people from all walks of life sharing their stories of love.
When Wei made pit stops, people were invited to take photos with the sculpture and paste their own messages of love as stickers on the sculpture. When they scanned QR codes on the sculpture, it and its surroundings would come alive with whimsical animations in augmented reality. On the final night, Wei rolled his sculpture to Merlion Park to recreate his iconic Very Momentary Exhibition.
“There is nothing more satisfying than creating exciting colourful lighted art installations that transform ordinary public spaces and bring joy to people,” shared Wei.
This piece of visual and performance art did indeed inspire love from organisations that helped shoulder Wei’s overheads. Members of the public can help offset Very Small Exhibition’s costs via crowdfunding—donors will receive LOVE greeting cards and LOVE forward cards.
